Greetings From The Art Room!
Dear Parents and Families,
My name is Ms. Taraborrelli and I am the art teacher here at College Square. This year our theme in the art room is called Ocean Adventures! Many of our projects will have connections with exploring various ocean habitats and sea life. We will feature student artwork during the spring’s Arts Fest in 2014.
Our talented students will make lots of great projects using watercolor and tempera paint, sculpture with found objects, clay, markers, crayons and more! We will look at many famous and not so famous works of art as we learn about the elements and principles of design. All of our art projects are based on the Pennsylvania Standards for Arts and Humanities, as well as National Standards for the Arts. First and second grade students receive an assessment that is based on effort, behavior, and application of learned skills and techniques.
As we make many messes in the art room, I am asking that you please send in an art shirt with your child. This can be an oversized T shirt or apron that I will keep in a locker next to the art room. Please write their name on the back with a sharpie.
Please see the back of this paper for a list of donation items we can use in the art room. I look forward to meeting you at open house !
Your trash is our treasure! All donations are greatly appreciated!!
